Christmas at St. George’s – 2021

Join us this Advent and Christmas season as we anticipate and celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

ADVENT – The Season of Waiting and Preparation

Messy Church – Advent for Families.  Friday, Nov 26th, 5:30pm.  At this family-friendly event, we will explore our Godly Play Advent Kits and learn about Jesus’ coming through songs, crafts and games.  All are welcome!  In-person.

Food Drive, in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank.  Nov 27th-Dec 26th.  We are once again collecting donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank. Donations can be dropped off during church office hours or on weekends at the Scouts tree lot located in our parking lot. You can also donate financially through our website! Just specify “Daily Bread Food Bank” as the fund of choice.

“Christmas Cheer” Outreach Concert.  Sunday, Dec 5th, 4:00pm.  This free concert is a fundraiser for the Daily Bread Food Bank and Lakeshore Out of the Cold. An eclectic mix of tangos and christmassy jazz, this concert will feature the talents of: Carlo Berardinucci (vocals); Julian Milkis (clarinet); Andras Weber (cello); Robert Horvath (piano); Ethan Ardelli (drums); and Attila Darvas (bass). This concert is still available for viewing here: concert page. Livestreamed.

Mitten Tree, for LAMP and Women’s Habitat. Dec 5th-19th. This year we will be donating hats and mittens for Women’s Habitat and for LAMP. The need for warm clothing is greater than ever this year. There is a mitten tree located at the front entrance to the church, as well as a donation bin just outside the church office door. We will be collecting until December 19th.

Blue Christmas Service (Church by Candlelight).  Wednesday, Dec 15th, 7:30pm.  A beautiful and contemplative service.  Take a moment away from the rush and bustle of the holiday season to re-centre your thoughts on the coming of Emmanuel, God with us. Watch the service or register to attend. In-person & Livestreamed.

CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas Eve Family Celebration.  4:00pm. This family-friendly service will include communion and will visually narrate the Christmas Story.  For families watching by livestream, have your creche/nativity scene empty and waiting for the Christ-child so that you can participate at home!  Partake during communion by having food and drink ready.  Livestreamed only. WATCH HERE

Christmas Eve Candlelight Eucharist.  10:00pm.  This service will be a traditional candlelight service of carols and communion.  Livestreamed only. WATCH HERE

CHRISTMAS DAY
