We will be offering a book study on Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad for four weeks in August on Thursdays from 7:00-8:15pm, August 5-26. This book study will be led by Kimberly Butler and our intern, Jess Dowling. Topics will include: Anti-blackness, Racial Stereotypes, Cultural Appropriation, Allyship, Power, Relationships and Committments, and Now What? This study is open to everyone!
“Me and White Supremacy is an eye-opening book that challenges you to do the essential work of unpacking your biases, and helps white people take action and dismantle the privilege within themselves so that you can stop (often unconsciously) inflicting damage on people of colour, and in turn, help other white people do better, too.” (from the blurb). Designed as a 28-day journey, complete with journal prompts, this study will help you do this necessary and vital work that can ultimately lead to improving race relations.
