CloseFriends,
I look forward to gathering again tomorrow morning. During this time of COVID 19 many other matters have surfaced. In particular there has been a renewed call to equality and the breaking down of divisions based on race, colour, gender, sexual orientation et al. One aspect of this has been a look back on our history and the call, by some, to do things like topple statues and rename streets. I wonder if there is a Christian viewpoint on this? I have attached a recent column from the Globe and Mail which addresses this issue. And so tomorrow we will say our prayers, check-in with one another and have a discussion of the points raised in the article; amongst other things I’m sure!
